Phoenix Public Works Notice

For our residents, a notice was mailed by the City of Phoenix earlier this week as a reminder for the proper placement of our trash (green), recycling (blue), and if applicable, green organics (tan) containers on collection day. The following is the content of the notice.

When setting out your solid waste containers, you must remember the following:

  1. Keep containers OFF of the sidewalk. Instead place containers at the edge of the street, with the wheels against the curb.
  2. Ensure that containers are at least four feet apart from each other, and at least 15 feet away from any other obstruction, such as cars, light posts and mailboxes.
  3. Do not place containers out for collection before 6:00 pm on the day before collection. Containers must be retrieved by 5:30 am on the day after collection.

Phoenix Public Works staff will be in the area to perform a follow-up inspection to verify compliance with City Code 27-19E. Thank you for your cooperation in resolving container placement issues and helping to keep your neighborhood clean and safe.
